Wagner Adds to Bulls’ Star of the Week Haul

Dec 4, 2019

MASON CITY, Iowa – It seems every single weekend, someone new steps up for the North Iowa Bulls. This past weekend, Carter Wagner was the most valuable player in the West Division in an abbreviated schedule, giving the Bulls yet another Bauer Hockey NA3HL Star of the Week award-winner. Wagner is the sixth different Bulls player to be named the West’s Star of the Week this season.

The Lino Lakes, Minnesota native has gotten hot over the last few weeks, posting four goals and five assists over his last seven contests. His two goals in the third period of Friday’s win turned a shaky 4-3 lead into a rock-solid 6-3 margin.

The Bulls have continued to stock their shelves with hardware in the process of building their West Division lead. North Iowa earned back-to-back Star of the Week awards with Austin McNeil and Lucas Wahlin in November, and also landed Star of the Week honors earlier in the season with Sota Isogai, Cam Fagerlee and Mason Enright.

North Iowa travels to Alexandria on Friday night before hosting the Blizzard on Saturday. The Bulls will celebrate the holidays with “Naughty and Nice” Night, and also bid farewell to the “Barn” with the team’s final home game in the North Iowa Ice Arena. Friday’s game gets underway at 7:10 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop Saturday in Mason City. Live streaming coverage of both games is available on HockeyTV, with free audio streaming Saturday on Mixlr.
