North Iowa Bulls alumnus forward Tyler Braccini has signed a contract to play professional hockey for the Birmingham Bulls of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
Following his playing career wearing the captain’s C for Buffalo High School, the Hanover, Minnesota, native spent parts of two seasons in the North American Hockey League and ultimately played 48 games between four teams. He concluded his junior hockey career with the Bulls in the 2021-22 season, lacing up for 34 games and scoring 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points.

After his junior hockey career, Braccini entered Bethel University and achieved remarkable success. In four seasons as a Bethel Royal, Braccini played 101 games and scored 57 goals and 38 assists for 95 points. He was selected to the MIAC’s All Conference Team three times, led the Royals in scoring twice, and was named the 2024-25 MIAC Offensive Player of the Year.
Braccini becomes the second Bulls alumnus this season to sign a professional hockey contract in the SPHL after Kyle Kozma and third this season to sign a pro contract in North America after Brett Morich.
Braccini made his debut with the Birmingham Bulls on Friday, March 20th, and notched an assist in his professional debut against the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
