The First North Iowa Bull!

Jul 12, 2011

You know you’ve got a good thing, when the first ever North Iowa Bull, Reed Gregory has to call you back because he has been on the ice for 2 hours at his home in Franktown, Colorado in the middle of July!

Reed Gregory, a ’95 forward, is indeed the first ever North Iowa Bull, as he made it official on June 22, 2011 by signing with the team.

“I have heard a lot of great things about the fan support in North Iowa and excited to play for Coach Sanden,”  notes Gregory;   “it is going to be a completely different atmosphere than what I am used to with the current team I play for, the Colorado Rampage, a U16 AAA Tier I elite team.”

Reed comes to the North Iowa Bulls based on his performance at the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL) tryout camp in Denver, CO.  Bismarck head coach, Layne Sedevie, commented that Reed was the most skilled and hardest working young player in the camp, and see's the NAHL as an option for Reeds future.

North Iowa Bulls Head Coach Todd Sanden states, “It is my goal as coach of the Bulls to utilize my contacts in order to build a team that allows players to come here and gain valuable playing time in order to continue their development towards the NAHL and USHL.”

That seems to fit right in with Reeds hockey career plans, as he is looking forward to the opportunity to continue to grow and develop on the ice.

Reed will leave behind his family in Colorado to join a North Iowa host family in his first ‘billet’ experience.   “Again, I have heard nothing but good things about North Iowa including the fans and host families” says Reed, “it’s going to be a great experience!”

The North Iowa Bulls will continue to build its roster after the tryout camp on August 5th and 6th at the OmniCenter in Onalaska, WI.
