Studioso Gobbles Up West Division Star of the Week

Nov 22, 2018

MASON CITY, Iowa – Brendan Studioso has one of the longest sustained scoring runs going in the NA3HL right now, with a point in 11 straight games. Games 10 and 11 in that streak were big ones, and they’ve gotten him back into the headlines as this week’s Bauer Hockey NA3HL West Division Star of the Week award winner. Studioso is the third North Iowa player in a row to win the award, after Jarod Blackowiak last week and Peter Verstegen two weeks ago.

The Bulls have rocketed into second place in the West Division, thanks in part to Studioso’s work in an 8-1 win at Breezy Point on Friday and a 7-1 win over the North Stars on Saturday. Studioso had a goal and an assist in the first of those two games, and added a goal and two more helpers on Saturday night.

The Mukilteo, Washington native has posted multiple points in his last five games, and eight of his last nine. It’s his second time on the divisional Star of the Week list this season, after posting his first two goals of the season against the North Stars and the New Ulm Steel back in late September.

North Iowa returns home to face the Alexandria Blizzard on Friday, with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop at the North Iowa Ice Arena and live streaming coverage on HockeyTV. Free audio streaming will also be available on Mixlr.

Friday’s game is Black Friday, with merchandise and concession specials throughout the night. The game also marks the Bulls’ Military Appreciation Night as we give thanks to those who have served to protect our country and our freedoms.
