Skrelja Recalled by Austin Bruins

Oct 16, 2017

AUSTIN, Minn. – Most of the players on the North Iowa Bulls roster had the weekend off from competition, the team’s last weekend off until Christmas.

Not Dominic Skrelja.

The South Lyon, Michigan native got the call to return to the North American Hockey League this past weekend, rejoining the Austin Bruins for their home series against the Brookings Blizzard. He appeared in Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Blizzard but did not register a point or a shot in the contest.

Skrelja has shuttled between the Bruins and the Bulls over the last month, appearing in back-to-back games for the Bruins at the NAHL Showcase last month and on Steve Howard’s preseason roster. Skrejla is currently attending high school in Austin as well.

“Dominic has been a dominant force for the Bulls in two of the three series he has played with us,” said North Iowa head coach Todd Sanden. “We’re glad he had an opportunity to help the Bruins get a win this weekend.”

The Bulls make their home debut for 2017-18 with a pair of games against the Wisconsin Whalers this Friday and Saturday, with both games scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff. Live video streaming for all games is available on HockeyTV and free audio streaming for Saturday’s home game is available on Mixlr.
