Sangyeob Kim Signs with KHL Sisak

Mason City, IA- The North Iowa Bulls are excited to announce that forward Sangyeob Kim has signed a contract to play professional hockey for KHL Sisak, in Sisak, Croatia. Kim becomes the second Bull this season to sign a professional contract. Max Ferkodic signed with HK Nitra, in Slovakia, earlier this season. 

Sangyeob Kim authored a remarkable season for the North Iowa Bulls and for the South Korean National team. Kim concluded his junior hockey career with 19 goals and 28 assists for 47 points in 48 games played for the Bulls this season. He finished second on the Bulls in overall scoring, third on the team in assists, and tied for the team lead in goal scoring with Cole Wirun. Kim’s season scoring total ranks 5th all time on the Bulls’ single season scoring record. Kim concluded his career with 98 NAHL games across 2 seasons split between the Bulls & the St. Cloud Norsemen, scoring 25 goals and 39 assists for 64 points. 

On the international stage, Kim made his first appearances in international Men’s competition, skating in 8 games at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China. In those games, Kim recorded a remarkable 12 goals and 6 assists for 18 points. His efforts helped South Korea win the tournament’s bronze medal. He followed it up with a strong showing at the 2025 Division I Group B IIHF World Championships, recording 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points in 5 games to help South Korea to win the silver medal. 

KHL Sisak was founded in 1930. Today, Sisak competes in the Croatian Hockey League and the Alps Hockey League. Sisak has won the Croatian Hockey League Championship in three of the last four seasons. The Bulls want to wish Sangyeob Kim good luck as he embarks on his professional hockey career.
