Sangyeob Kim Commits to Tennessee State

Mason City, IA- The North Iowa Bulls are thrilled to announce that forward Sangyeob Kim has committed to play NCAA DI Hockey at Tennessee State University, in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Sangyeob made his debut in the North American Hockey League last season with the St. Cloud Norsemen, playing 30 games and recording a goal and 6 assists for 7 points. The Seoul, South Korea, native arrived in Mason City in a midseason trade and played 20 games for the Bulls last season, notching 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points. His total NAHL numbers last season; his first season after coming to North America, amounted to 6 goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 50 games. Kim also suited up for the South Korean National Hockey team in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

He will play a pivotal role in the Bulls success this season, and we expect him to only get better.”

Tennessee State University is a Historically Black University in Nashville, TN, and is the first HBCU to host collegiate ice hockey in the United States. The Tigers announced a plan to host a college hockey team at the 2023 NHL Draft, in Nashville, and Kim will join the inaugural NCAA DI Roster for the 2025-26 hockey season.
