North Iowa’s Jackson deadly on offense in 7-2 win against Bozeman

The North Iowa Bulls relied on the scoring touch of Austin Jackson, who netted two goals, to beat the Bozeman Icedogs, 7-2.

Jackson scored at 1:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa and again while on the power play 2:59 into the second to make the score 2-0 North Iowa.

North Iowa forced Icedogs\’ netminders to work between the pipes, taking 64 shots and forcing 57 saves. Steven Frank made 26 stops and Denijs Romanovskis made 31.

North Iowa additionally got points from Trey Gardner, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. North Iowa also had goals scored by Evan Mills, Johnny Panvica, Joe Burgmeier, and Travis Johnston, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Brett Gravelle, who had two and Joe Kleven, Adam Orn, Carmen Dalesandro, Sam Naegele, and Dylan Zins, who each chipped in one.

Bozeman\’s offense was handcuffed by the Bulls\’ defensive play, and the Icedogs managed only 10 shots on goal during the game. Bozeman found itself short handed often, totaling 38 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

Jordan Moran recorded eight saves for North Iowa. The Bulls incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Icedogs registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
