North Iowa pulls away in second, rolls over Twin City, 6-1

Twin City was within striking distance after one period, but North Iowa put the pedal down in the second en route to a 6-1 victory.

Kohei Sato had two goals to lead North Iowa to victory. Sato\’s tallies came at 3:13 into the second period to make the score 2-0 North Iowa and 6:39 into the second to make the score 4-0 North Iowa.

North Iowa forced Twin City\’s netminders to work without much rest, getting 40 shots and forcing 34 saves. Gunnar Howg made 22 stops and Jon Albers made 12.

North Iowa also had goals scored by Daylon De Souza, Tommy Hall, Austin Jackson, and Tommy Stang, who each put in one. In addition, North Iowa received assists from David Min, who had two, Adam Orn, who had three, and Tom Lindgren, Quinn Fuchs, Jack Stang, Carmen Dalesandro, and Riley Meyer, who each chipped in one.

Twin City\’s offense operated below its season average. Twin City averages 4.6 goals per game.

Twin City also got a goal from Nicholas Campbell as well. More assists for Twin City came via Fritz Belisle and Alex Egle, who contributed one each.

Tommi Ahlgren made 23 saves for North Iowa on 24 shots. North Iowa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Twin City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
