North Iowa Bulls announce exhibition schedule

Aug 6, 2012

The North Iowa Bulls begin their 2012-13 season with 5 exhibition games against NAHL opponents.

The Bulls face off first on the road August 31st and September 1st against the Topeka Roadrunners.  "Topeka is a South Division contender every year and we look forward to the opportunity Head coach Scott Langer has provided for our guys to come in and compete in a NAHL building."

The Austin Bruins will host the Bulls September 7th and 8th at Riverside Arena in Austin, MN.  " Head coach Chris Tok  made an impact on the Bulls last year sending defenseman Brian Harrison to North Iowa for some extra seasoning.  Brian played most of the year with the Bulls, which included a couple call ups to Austin to check his progress. "The process definitely worked for us in getting Brian from Austin, and he landed an early commit spot to St. OLaf College."

The final exhibition game of the young season has the 2012 South Division Champion Amarillo Bulls stopping on their way to the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN on September 11th to tune things up before facing NAHL foes.  "The relationships we develop with the teams in the NAHL benefit our players tremendously.  Although it's early in the season, it gives our players a chance to measure the level in a game situation against NAHL caliber players.  It also allows those NAHL coaches a look at our early roster which is filled with a very good young crop of prospects." We have targeted many 1994 birth year players that we feel can make the step to the NAHL either during this season or after a year of development in North Iowa.
