Mullendore leads North Iowa over Minnesota, 7-3

Jake Mullendore had two goals and one assist to lead the North Iowa Bulls to a 7-3 victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

Mullendore scored at 7:43 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 6:03 into the third to make the score 4-3 North Iowa.

North Iowa pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes.

Minnesota was unable to stop the Bulls from sending pucks towards the net, and North Iowa eventually piled up 77 shots on goal.

North Iowa also got points from Tommy Heinzman, who also registered one goal and one assist, Joe Burgmeier, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Trey Gardner, who also had one goal and one assist. North Iowa also had goals scored by Johnny Panvica and Tyler Johnson, who scored one goal each. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Kohei Sato, who had two and Carmen Dalesandro, Connor Bump, Sam Naegele, Jon Severson, Jack Stang, and Dylan Zins, who contributed one each.

The Flying Aces could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Minnesota was led by Zachary Johnston, who tallied one goal and two assists. Johnston scored 4:33 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Tyler Gallagher picked up the assist. Others who scored for Minnesota included Blake Neumann and Ty Ennis, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Lucas Mutschelknaus, who had one and Travis Johnston, who had two.

Jordan Moran recorded 25 saves for the Bulls. North Iowa registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Dakota McDonald made 70 saves for the Flying Aces on 77 shots. Minnesota registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
