Mason City, IA – Mason City Toros goaltender Jannes Kamp has committed to play NCAA Division III College Hockey at the University of St. Joseph, in West Hartford, Connecticut.
The Bloomington, Minnesota, native arrived in Mason City late in the 2025-26 season after starting the season with the Granite City Lumberjacks. In 8 games as a Toro, Jannes posted a .917 save percentage and pushed the Toros into the 2026 Fraser Cup Playoffs.
Kamp played 21 career NA3HL games and posted a 9-6-2 record with a .923 save percentage. His career high in saves came on February 28th, when he stopped 42 of 45 shots against the Alexandria Blizzard.

During the 2025-26 season, Kamp also earned a call-up to the North American Hockey League’s Chippewa Steel.
“Jannes came to us late in the season and immediately brought experience and determination to the group,” said Head Coach Alex North. He is a big reason we made the Fraser Cup playoffs, and I am excited to see what Jannes does with this well-deserved opportunity.”
The University of St. Joseph is a private, Catholic university in West Hartford, Connecticut. Kamp joins the Blue Jays’ inaugural varsity men’s team, which the school announced this past October to begin play in the 2026-27 academic year.
Jannes is the 5th Toro to make a collegiate commitment this season and the 2nd to an NCAA program. He is also the first Mason City NA3HL player to commit to USJ, and the first NA3HL player to commit to the nascent program, which will compete in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in the 2026-27 season.
