The North Iowa Bulls, proud members of the NA3HL, announce that forward Jack Stang has signed a tender agreement with the Minot Minotauros. Stang, from Mendota Heights, MN is the 5th player from this years team to accept a tender in the NAHL. Jack is no stranger to the NAHL. He played 50 games in the NAHL for the Brookings Blizzard during the 2013-15 seasons. Why this opportunity now? Minotauros head coach Marty Murray answers this question with comments from Jack's play at the recent Minot pre draft tryout, "Jack had a real solid weekend, and was constantly a threat, he was all over the scoresheet. His hockey sense really stood out for me and little things like helping with nets and picking up pucks says a lot about his character. Jack played his way into that opportunity."
Jack played 17 regular season games for the Bulls tallying 2 goals and 12 assists and was +6. "Jack's hockey sense and commitment to his teammates is what really struck home with me. He came in late and provided much needed depth down the middle for our team. He was excellent in penalty killing situations and on face offs for us. His character and maturity were also a contributing factor to our team success. Jack is a winner, a Minnesota State High School champion with St. Thomas Academy and now a National championship with the North Iowa Bulls." Jack's attention to the defensive part of the game benefitted the Bulls during the playoffs where he appeared in 13 games including the 2015 USA Hockey Tier III Junior National Championships. Jack recorded 6 assists and was +9 in those contests.
"I appreciate the opportunity that I received in North Iowa with the Bulls. It was an awesome time with the boys and the coaches who all were great and allowed me to continue playing at a high level. It was a real eye opener in my first home game. I had heard how fun it was to play there but being in that environment in the barn in Mason City was crazy. So loud and the energy was electric. Thanks to the fans for bringing that energy every time we played. I also want to thank Coach Murray for this opportunity, I look forward to competing for and earning a spot on that roster. I would also like to thank my parents for their continued support of me playing junior hockey. It wouldn't be possible without them." commented Stang.
