Huge game by Kroska boosts North Iowa over Minnesota, 6-1

Matt Kroska had two goals and one assist to lead the North Iowa Bulls to a 6-1 victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

Kroska found the back of the net 17:17 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North Iowa and again while on the power play 19:09 into the second to make the score 3-1 North Iowa.

North Iowa forced Minnesota goalie Mike Stumpf to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots.

North Iowa also got points from Brandon Anderson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Timothy Santopoalo, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Logan Murphy also scored for North Iowa. More assists for North Iowa came via Conor Jonasson, who had one and Andrew Halama, who had two.

The Flying Aces found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against the Bulls\’ defense.

Minnesota was led by Jack Anderholm, who scored the team\’s only goal. Anderholm scored on the power play 16:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnesota. The Flying Aces had gotten the advantage when North Iowa\’s Anderson was sent off for boarding. Eric Cruickshank provided the assist.

Chris Amsden made 10 saves for the Bulls on 11 shots. North Iowa incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Minnesota\’s Stumpf stopped 45 shots out of the 51 that he faced. The Flying Aces incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
