Great Falls falls apart in second, loses to North Iowa, 6-1

The North Iowa Bulls used a three-goal second period to put away the Great Falls Americans, 6-1.

The win gave North Iowa a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Joe Burgmeier was all over the ice for the Bulls, as he finished with two goals in the win. Burgmeier scored at 10:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 13:56 into the first to make the score 2-1 North Iowa.

North Iowa forced Great Falls goalie Jordan Moran to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

North Iowa additionally got points from Brett Gravelle, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North Iowa included Conor Durgan, Dylan Zins, and Jake Johnson, who scored one goal each. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Sam Naegele, who had three, Evan Mills and Robert Click, who contributed one each, and Johnny Panvica and Joe Kleven, who each chipped in two.

The Americans were led by Lucas Lomax, who scored the team\’s only goal. Lomax scored 3:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Great Falls. Josh Larson assisted on the tally.

Chris Amsden took the win and made 14 saves before being replaced by David Johnson who made six saves. The Bulls incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Moran recorded 47 saves for Great Falls. The Americans incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
