Gravelle’s hat trick boosts North Iowa over Alexandria, 5-2

Brett Gravelle netted a hat trick to lead North Iowa over Alexandria, 5-2.

Gravelle notched his first tally 11:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:56 into the second and at 2:38 into the third.

North Iowa forced Alexandria goalie Evan Bisek to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

North Iowa also had goals scored by Kadin Machusak and Kohei Sato, who scored one goal each. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Tommi Ahlgren, Ryan Durant, Marshall Barnes, Carmen Dalesandro, and David Min, who each chipped in one and Tommy Hall and Austin Jackson, who contributed two each.

Alexandria kept North Iowa\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Ahlgren made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Alexandria was led by Aaron Ryback, who had one goal and one assist. Ryback scored on the power play 11:17 into the second period to make the score 3-1 North Iowa. Alexandria earned a power play opportunity when Dalesandro was put in the box for checking from behind. Trent Olson assisted on the tally. Alexandria also got a goal from Jack Cernohous as well. More assists for Alexandria came via Logan Norman and Tyler Frischmon, who each chipped in one.

North Iowa incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bisek recorded 32 saves for Alexandria. Alexandria incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
