Mar 10, 2024

Mason City, IA- The North Iowa Bulls dropped their series finale on Saturday afternoon against the Minot Minotauros in a 3-0 final.

Connor Graham took center stage for the night, recording a career high 55 saves on 57 shots faced. The Fort Wayne, IN, native made saves of all sorts, sliding from post to post, flashing the leather, and sticking pucks away from the net.

The game also took a decidedly chippy tone with the teams combining for 21 penalties and 120 total penalty minutes. The biggest chunk came in a post game confrontation between the teams that took a while to finally sort out.

All in all, Minot got eight power play opportunities and scored on two of them with both goals coming from the same scorer, Trevor Stachowiak. The first came 7:56 into the opening stanza. his second came 11:58 into the second frame. The Minotauros added an empty netter as the Bulls pushed to get on the scoreboard late in the game. Adam Mahler did the honors to earn a series sweep for the Minotauros.

Lukas Swedin ended the night with a 16 save shutout in the Minot net.

The Bulls host two games against the Austin Bruins at the Mason City Arena next weekend. Puck drops at 7:10 PM on both Friday and Saturday night.
