A RELATIVE RARITY: Shutout losses are hard to find in the annals of Bulls history – last night’s loss was only the seventh shutout ever surrendered by the Bulls, and their first since March 1, 2018. That loss, a 3-0 defeat, also came against the Lumberjacks (though back in Mason City). Of the seven times North Iowa has ever been shut out, three have been against Granite City, though the Bulls have claimed four shutout wins of their own in the series.

WE’LL HAVE TO BE FINE WITH NINE: The loss to Granite City also ended a nine-game winning streak dating back to last season, the longest such run for the Bulls since their 10-game winning streak during the 2018-19 season. The Bulls finished 2019-20 on a red-hot run – after a 3-1 loss at Rochester on February 1, they never lost again, and their eight-game winning streak as of the season’s end was their longest of the season.
