TONIGHT’S PROMOTION: The Bulls return home on Saturday to face the Alexandria Blizzard, as North Iowa hosts “Marvel-ous Night” at the Mason City Multipurpose Arena. Several superheroes will be on hand, and a superhero photo booth will be open for Saturday’s game. For a schedule of upcoming promotions, click here.

NINE WOULD BE FINE: Bulls forward Lucas Jorgenson earned just his third goal in an eight-game point streak last Sunday evening – with 24 points, he now finds himself one point behind Cal Nauss for the team’s top mark. Sota Isogai’s eight-game point streak, which ended last Saturday, remains tied with Jorgenson’s for the team’s longest point streak of the season. The last time the Bulls enjoyed a nine-game point streak from any one player, it was Matt Dahlseide’s, who ended the 2018 calendar year on a 16-game point streak. Jorgenson was not in the lineup at Willmar last night, keeping his streak intact for another day.

X MARKS THE SPOT: This could be a momentous win for the Bulls, as they look to wrap up their 10th straight Fraser Cup playoff spot this evening – thanks to New Ulm’s 6-1 loss to Granite City last night, their season would max out at 42 points, one more than the Bulls’ current total. New Ulm is off tonight.

HITTING THE RESTART BUTTON: North Iowa will look to start a new home winning streak tonight after seeing an impressive mark come to an end on Sunday against Willmar. The Bulls’ home winning streak was stopped at 18 games, the Bulls’ longest winning stretch at home since January of 2017, and lost their first home game ever to Willmar in 12 outings. Even a three-game Valentine’s Day run ended, after the Bulls won three previous Valentine’s Day games in 2020, 2015 and 2014.

BLIZZARD WHITED OUT IN MASON CITY: The Bulls will look to keep one big winning streak going tonight – North Iowa enters this game with a 15-game winning streak at home against Alexandria in hand. The last time the Blizzard knocked off North Iowa on their home ice, they needed seven goals and a 39-save outing from Evan Bisek for a 7-5 win on January 23, 2015. Luke Pavelich and Jake Johnson traded two-goal nights, and the Blizzard started the night with a 4-3 lead after the first period. Bisek would make 39 saves the next night as well, in a 3-2 overtime win for North Iowa.

GRIND IT OUT: North Iowa needed its defense and goaltending to get past the WarHawks last night – the Bulls haven’t won a 2-1 contest since beating Willmar in December of 2018, and their first win with two goals or fewer since topping Granite City last year.
