Former Bull Florian Named Rookie of the Week

Jan 26, 2017

Former North Iowa Bull Dominik Florian of American International College has been named Rookie of the Week by Atlantic Hockey.

From the North American Hockey League website:

“Freshman forward Dominik Florian scored three goals and an assist in a weekend sweep of Niagara. He had two goals in Friday’s 7-3 win over the Purple Eagles, then, on Saturday, Florian added a goal and an assist to close out another Yellow Jacket victory. The three goals brought his season total to 10, making him the first freshman since Adam Pleskach (2009-10) to record double-digit goals in a rookie season.”

Florian played with North Iowa during the 2013-14 season, appearing in 16 games. The native of Vlasim, Czech Republic netted 11 goals and assisted on 16 others, giving him 27 points during his short stint with North Iowa.

He would be called up to the Coulee Region Chill of the North American Hockey League where he would play over 100 games. He racked up 49 goals and tallied 35 assists as a member of the Chill before his commitment to Division-I American International.

The North Iowa Bulls wish Dominik continued success in his hockey career.
