Early goals doom Twin City, falls to North Iowa, 8-3

Twin City fell behind early, and North Iowa kept piling on the points on the way to an 8-3 victory.

North Iowa got the win with help from a great game by Austin Jackson, who had two goals and two assists. Jackson scored the first of his two goals at 3:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. Brett Gravelle provided the assist. Jackson\’s next tally made the score 6-1 North Iowa with 17:16 left in the third period. Gravelle assisted on the tally.

North Iowa additionally got points from Tommy Hall, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Gravelle, who also had two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. North Iowa also had goals scored by Quinn Fuchs, Carmen Dalesandro, and David Min, who scored one goal each. More assists for North Iowa came via Tom Lindgren, Jeff Solow, Kohei Sato, Tommy Stang, and Jack Stang, who contributed one each and Shane Bernhardson and Marshall Barnes, who each chipped in two.

David Johnson made 23 saves for North Iowa on 26 shots. North Iowa incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Twin City took out Gunnar Howg after he had made 19 saves and installed Jon Albers in goal, where he finished with one save and the loss. Twin City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
