Bump Recognized As Central Division Star of the Week

Dec 6, 2017

MASON CITY, Iowa – Tyler Bump racked up eight points in last weekend’s home series against the Wausau RiverWolves, including a hat trick on Saturday night, his third in a Bulls uniform.

That was more than enough for the second-year Bulls forward to nab a Bauer NA3HL Central Division Star of the Week Award, his second such honor of the season and the Bulls’ fifth of the year.

The Prior Lake, Minnesota native hasn’t just feasted on the RiverWolves this season, but on opposing defenses in general – Bump has racked up 40 points in just 21 games this year, and 12 of Bump’s games this season have been multi-point efforts.

It’s the second time he’s been chosen as the division’s Star of the Week, after dropping a hat trick on the La Crosse Freeze in late September. Mitch Dolter, Jarod Blackowiak and Dominic Skrelja have also been chosen as the division’s Star of the Week during the 2017-18 season, and the latter two have also earned NAHL call-ups during the course of the year.

The Bulls return to “The Barn” on Friday night for a pre-Christmas home finale against the Rochester Ice Hawks, and “Teddy Bear Toss” Night at the North Iowa Ice Arena. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with live streaming coverage on HockeyTV. For advance tickets to Friday’s game or any future Bulls home game, click here.
