Bulls’ Winning Streak Snapped in Springfield

Nov 4, 2023

Springfield, IL- For the third game in a row, the North Iowa Bulls trailed by two goals in the third period and mounted an admirable comeback effort. Unlike their two matchups against St. Cloud, however, the Bulls were unable to complete their objective against the Springfield Jr. Blues, falling in Illinois’ capital 2-1.

The Bulls outshot the Blues 35-26, and were particularly dominant in the third period, in which they tipped the shot counter their way 16-5 and landed their only goal of the game. Hayden Siegel scored for the Bulls to give North Iowa a chance, but the Blues held off a third period stampede to win their second game in a row.

JJ Cataldo stopped 34 of 35 shots on the Springfield net to secure the win. Logan Sutton and Zach Howard scored in the first and second period respectively for the two Blues goals that got by North Iowa goalie Connor Graham, who stopped 24 of 26 shots.

Eli Miller and Blake Ulve recorded assists on Siegel’s goal.

The Bulls look to split the weekend on Saturday night in the Land of Lincoln. Puck drop at the Nelson Center is scheduled for 6:05 PM. All North Iowa Bulls’ games are broadcast on NAHLTV.com
