Bulls Win Streak Snapped in Aberdeen

Aberdeen, SD- The North Iowa Bulls lost their first game this season in Aberdeen, with an 8-3 final to the Wings. 

The Wings jumped on the scoreboard fast with five goals in the first period and tacked on three more in the third. Kie Vahakangas led the way with two goals and an assist for three points. Jibber Kuhl also added two goals to the effort for the Wings. 

Teddy Richardson and Sangyeob Kim each recorded power play goals for the Bulls. Richardson’s goal was his first since returning from the USHL’s Lincoln Stars. Kim’s came in his first game wearing a Bulls jersey following a trade from the St. Cloud Norsemen. Eli Miller added an even strength goal in the second period. 

Jack Seaverson and Blake Ulve recorded assists, running their recent hot streaks to eight points in their last eight games respectively. 

Aberdeen goalie Adam Dyball stopped 15 of 18 shots while North Iowa goalie Santo Simmchen stopped 27 of 35 shots at his net. 

The Bulls and Wings conclude their weekend series on Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center.
