Bulls Win 2-0 Over Bobcats

Jan 9, 2023

The Bulls shutout rival Bismarck on Saturday in a 2-0 victory on home ice in front of 1,439 fans.  The Bulls out shot their opponent 35 to 30 and remained red hot on the penalty kill as they killed off both penalties.  Through the last 2 games North Iowa has killed off all 5 penalties they have faced.  The game remained scoreless through 2 periods of play with North Iowa playing a physical game as they were able to knock Bismarck off the puck several times.  It would take almost 50 minutes of play before North Iowa would find the back of the net when Simone Dadie landed a massive hit that lead to a turnover where Nolan Abraham was able to collect the puck and put one past Bismarck goaltender Hunter Garvey.
With Bismarck pulling their goalie late in the 3rd and the faceoff coming in the North Iowa zone, Max Scott would line up in the draw and win the face off, passing back to Carter Theissen. Theissen was able to get the puck over to Blake Ulve who would sail the puck down the ice for the empty net goal.
With Saturday’s shutout win, goalie Stefan Carney is now 3-0 on the season with the North Iowa Bulls. The Bulls will look to secure another win as they  will head out of town this weekend for a two game road trip against Bismarck on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th.
