The North Iowa Bulls have released their 2012-2013 regular season schedule.
The Bulls open their season against a team they seek to displace this upcoming year, the defending League Champion Granite City Lumberjacks on September 14th. The Bulls also have many more meetings with Granite City throughout the season giving them plenty of opportunity to see what the team can bring to the ice. Granite City had a very mature club last season with 10 aged out players.
The Bulls home opener is set for October 6 in the North Iowa Ice Arena. The chosen opponent is the new expansion team, the Alexandria Blizzard. Alexandria had a NAHL team last year, which moved to Brookings SD. The Bulls are excited to jar against the new team, as the Blizzard are expected to rival the Bulls in attendance. The Bulls take on a different expansion right away in the season, the Breezy Point North Stars. The Bulls don't see the North Stars at home until December. With two new teams to the divison this year, the West Divison is expected to be very competitive.
There is no doubt that the rivalry will continue between Granite City and North Iowa. As the dimention of both teams is expected to change with the upcoming season, both clubs are anticipating to make a run at the division title this year.
Overall the Bulls are very pleased with the setting of the new schedule and very excited to return to their favorite fan base in the North Iowa Ice Arena.
