MASON CITY, Iowa – The North Iowa Bulls’ 10th Anniversary season will look a bit different from its previous nine, but the 2020-21 campaign is officially a go in the River City. The Bulls have announced their regular-season schedule, which will feature 20 home games at the Mason City Multipurpose Arena. The total schedule will feature 43 games, down slightly from previous years after a two-week delay due to COVID-related concerns nationwide.

The Bulls will be one of the first teams across the North American Tier 3 Hockey League to host a game on Friday, October 2 when the Alexandria Blizzard come to Mason City. North Iowa will face Alexandria and its other West Division foes 10 times apiece this season. Out-of-division games have been eliminated from the regular-season schedule this season, except for the NA3HL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota, which remains on the schedule for December 20-22.

North Iowa’s home schedule is, as usual, heavy on the weekend dates – 10 games will be played inside the Mason City Multipurpose Arena on Saturdays, and nine will be played on Fridays. One, a Valentine’s Night showdown with the Willmar WarHawks, will be played on a Sunday evening. Plans are also in the works for at least one exhibition game on home ice, with dates and details to be announced at a later date.

11 home games are on the schedule prior to the Christmas break, including a Halloween date against Willmar. The other nine home games will be played during the 2021 portion of the schedule, with a home weekend February 26 and 27 against the arch-rival Granite City Lumberjacks to bring down the curtain on the home portion of the regular-season schedule. The final three games of the regular season will be played away from Mason City, marking the earliest end ever to the Bulls’ regular-season home slate.

Promotional nights are currently being scheduled for each of the team’s 20 home dates, as the team celebrates its 10th season in Mason City and first full season at its new downtown home. The team has adopted #DecadeOfDominance as its social media hashtag and theme for the upcoming season, in recognition of the team’s accomplishments on and off the ice since its founding in 2011.

As was the case during the Bulls’ Main Tryout Camp this past month, socially-distanced seating will be in place to start the season, as well as mask and temperature-check requirements for those entering the building. These measures will be in effect for all Bulls home games until further notice and may be in place for the entire season. Due to the significantly-reduced seating capacity and limited single-game ticket availability, fans are especially encouraged to purchase season tickets for the upcoming season, which are available by calling the North Iowa front office at 641-423-4625.
