Bulls Invite Fans to “Join Our Reading Stampede” Friday

Mar 7, 2022

MASON CITY, Iowa – As the North Iowa Bulls have asked their fans to “Join Our Stampede” in recent years, the team is asking fans to “Join Our Reading Stampede” for this Friday night’s game against the Austin Bruins. Friday is the Bulls’ “Reading Stampede” game to celebrate National Reading Month and the North American Hockey League’s “Read to Succeed” initiative for the month of March.

The Bulls will host a book exchange at Friday’s game, and fans are invited to make a contribution ahead of game day to get the exchange started. Fans who bring in books to donate to the exchange prior to game day will receive $1 off their admission per book, up to a $5 maximum discount per ticket. The Bulls will also raffle off a collection of Dr. Seuss books at Friday’s game. National Reading Month is observed each March in commemoration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2.

The NAHL is also observing National Reading Month with its “Read to Succeed” initiative, which aims to motivate individuals of all ages to read and remind individuals that reading can be fun and has many benefits. Reading helps increase cognitive function, memory, vocabulary, and helps decrease stress levels.
