Jan 4, 2024

Mason City, IA- The North Iowa Bulls open their 2024 slate of games with a pair of home games on Friday and Saturday night at the Mason City Arena against the Aberdeen Wings. This is the first matchup between these two teams since October 20th and 21st, also at the Mason City Arena. Aberdeen took the first game of that series 7-2 while North Iowa claimed the Saturday match-up 3-2.

The Bulls look to snap a 9-game losing streak. Aberdeen, meanwhile, is aiming to bounce back from a 4-0 shutout loss from before the new year against the St. Cloud Norsemen. Aberdeen won the first game of their series against St. Cloud 5-1, powered by a 33 save effort by Adam Dyball and a three-point performance by Adam Gravink.

In their calendar ending series against the Austin Bruins, the Bulls dropped both games, 5-3 in Austin and 5-2 in Mason City. Defenseman Carter Theissen posted two points in the December 29th game at Austin while Max LeDuc scored points in both games, including the first goal at Austin. Rylan Yates netted his first goal as a Bull and second on the NAHL’s season on December 30th to trigger the 2023 Teddy Bear Toss.

The game will be broadcast on NAHL TV and on the North Iowa Bulls’ Mixlr Feed. Chris Lynch has the call.
