Bulls Grant Wishes

Feb 3, 2013

The North Iowa Bulls celebrated their second annual Make-A-Wish weekend in fine fashion. The numbers that really matter this weekend were the dollars raised for Make-A-Wish Iowa. And they were huge, $12,125 dollars were raised as a result of Saturday's post game jersey auction. The North Iowa Bulls would like to thank Corporate Farmer and Dr. Korthals for their financial contributions making the commemorative jersey's available for the Bulls players to wear. North Iowa forward Eric Behrend took top auction honors with his jersey garnering a $1000 dollar winning bid.

North Iowa played some hockey as well. The Quad City Flames were in town to close out the 4 game consecutive series. On Friday the Bulls nipped the Flames 5-2. After trailing the Flames 2-1 after the first period the Bulls tallied 4 unanswered goals. Tony Paulson and Patrick Sivets each had a goal and an assist in the last 40 minutes. Aaron Davis recorded his 10th win in goal making 23 saves.

Saturday night proved to be a spectacular night not only for Make-A-Wish Iowa but also the North Iowa Bulls. Revved up from an energized crowd of raucous fans the Bulls exploded for 12 goals, their season high at home. Special teams proved to be potent for the Bulls who scored 3 times shorthanded and twice on the power play. Eric Behrend and Ron Lindgren each recorded 4 points, Lindgren was +5. Bulls netminder Matt Bartels made 25 saves and added an assist to get his league leading 19 win.

The North Iowa Bulls would like to thank the outstanding fans who stayed to bid on the Make-A-Wish jerseys. And again extend thanks to all the corporate partners for their support of Make-A-Wish Iowa and the North Iowa Bulls.
