Bulls go .500 against Central League leader St. Louis

The North Iowa Bulls hit the road this past weekend to take on the Central League leader St. Louis Jr. Blues for a two game stand.

 

The Saturday night game saw North Iowa forward Jared Ramstead, 3HL player of the month, continue his strong scoring streak with a first period goal off an assist from Sergey Barkin and Connor Langfield setting up the Bulls 1-0 at the end of the first period. St. Louis quickly knotted the score up in the second period. North Iowa Bulls defensemen Carson Gray added to his scoring streak as well in the second off a powerplay extending the Bulls to a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.

 

Ramstead, once again, opened up the scoring in the third on a powerplay with a shot to extend the Bulls lead 3-1. North Iowa and St. Louis continued trading goals in the third with each teams scoring 2 goals each in the third. North Iowa was able to hold off St. Louis until the end and came out victorious 4-3.

 

On Sunday, St. Louis came out strong against North Iowa with a 2-0 lead at the end of at the end of the first period. North Iowa Bulls forward Nick Marsh put the Bulls on the board in the second off an assist from Carson Gray and Justin Gregory.

 

St. Louis was able to showcase their division leading talent as they scored 2 unanswered goals to close out the game giving Jr. Blues a 4-1 win over the Bulls. Bulls defensive men Carson Gray added to his point earning streak once again giving him 8 points in the past 7 games dating back to October 21.
