Bulls Fall In Close Game To Bismarck

Jan 6, 2023

The Bulls returned to action on Friday night in a close game against the visiting Bismarck Bobcats.  Bismarck would get on the board at the 5:53 mark of the first when Alexander Palchik was able to convert on a  2 on 1 and redirect a pass from Calvin Hanson to put Bismarck up 1-0.  North Iowa would continue to battle back in the first when a Bismarck turn over at the blueline allowed Byron Hartley to collect the puck before sending a pass over to waiting teammate Max Scott.  Scott was able to dangle and put it in back handed and the Bulls would tie it up 1-1 at the end of the first period.
North Iowa would come out strong in the second period killing off 2 penalties before Bismarck would throw one at the North Iowa net.  Bismarck would chip one up and over several Bulls players out front and would take the lead before ending the 2nd 2-1.
North Iowa would come back out in the 3rd looking for the equalizer.  However, Bismarck’s Julian Beaumont  would convert on a Bismarck 3 on 2 and Bismarck would take the lead 3-1.  With Mitchell Day pulled late in the 3rd, North Iowa did an exceptional job of back checking and preventing Bismarck from adding an empty net goal.
