Bulls Dec Monthly Recap

Dec 30, 2012

The North Iowa Bulls made December a month to remember. North Iowa ran the table in December winning all 9 of their scheduled games. The Bulls outscored their opponents 59-16 in this stretch. North Iowa was led by a balanced offensive attack that included several Bulls players having big numbers for the month. Bulls forward Tony Paulson racked up 16 points on 4 goals and 12 assists to lead the charge. Matt Kroska was close behind at 14 points on 5 goals and 9 assists. Depth is what has been the key to North Iowa's success. Forwards Eric Behrend, Patrick Sivets, Tim Santopoalo, Taylor Brown, James Hughes, and Kyle Krueger all had 10 or more points during the stretch. Brown and Santopoalo each recorded 2 game winning goals as well which shows our scoring leaders are getting important goals for us too. North Iowa is blessed with an outstanding group of defensemen led by Connor Langfield from Rosemount, MN. Connor tallied 3 goals and 5 assists and played +12 for the month. Keeping along the lines of leaders scoring big goals, 2 of Langfields goals were game winners. Chancie Hanson enjoyed a breakout month, from Wasilla, AK he tallied 5 assists and was +7. Steady defenseman and team alternate captain Andrew Halama was +7 and also chipped in 5 helpers. Tyler Burg and Ron Lindgren were both +10 while Kyle Gonzalez was steady at +9 all adding 3 points or more during the month. Good teams require good goaltending and the tandem of Matt Bartels and Aaron Davis have been lights out. The pair has a combined save percentage of .929 and a stingy 1.67 goals against average per game in December. Davis from Mound, MN in 4 starts recorded two shutouts and a 1.5 GAA and a .945 save percentage. Bartels from Ontario, CA has been equally effective posting 1 shutout and a 1.77 GAA and a .911 save percentage. The success on the ice has been enjoyed by our community and the North Iowa Bulls wish to thank our fans who have already pushed us over the 10,000 mark in attendance with 7 games yet remaining during the regular season. We appreciate that support which is a driving force in our success on the ice, thank you.
