Bulls Capture NA3HL West Division Crown!

Mar 1, 2013

North Iowa slipped past the Minnesota Flying Aces 3-2 on a pair of third period tally's in front of another packed house.  Connor Langfield provided an unconventional game winning goal. On a rush up the ice, Langfield rang a hard dump in off the glass behind Aces netminder Jared Stearns who stepped out to play the puck and had it carom off his skate and into the net.  "Connor is playing with a ton of confidence right now but certainly is catching some breaks around the opponents net. He beat Granite City's goaltender last weekend on a center ice shot shorthanded." Sometimes a little luck can be a good thing! James Hughes added a pair of assists for the Bulls while Jake Johnson and Matt Kroska each added goals. Kroska scored the Bulls 21st shorthanded goal of the season, tops in the 3HL. Matt Bartels made 22 saves to earn his league leading 24th win of the season. The North Iowa Bulls cap the regular season off next weekend with a pair of home games at the "Barn". Breezy Point is in town on Friday night March 8 and the Twin City Steel are the Saturday night foe, both games are 7:30pm start. Make sure to stop and get your playoff tickets at the box office on game day, by calling the Bulls front office at 641-423-GOAL, or by emailing Nick Crimmins at NCrimmins@NorthIowaBulls.com. The Bulls will have home ice during the first round of playoffs which begin March 15-16.
