Bulls Blanked by Bruins in Sunday’s Loss

Jan 4, 2023

After 2 come from behind wins on Friday and Saturday night, the Bulls found themselves on the losing side Sunday in a 5-0 loss to the Austin Bruins.  It’s been said that when things look bleak to pick the lesser of two evils.  Well tonight the North Iowa Bulls were looking in the face of two of them, penalties, and Austin screening goaltender Mitch day.
This was one of the highest recorded penalty games for the Bulls (Austin with 56 minutes in penalties and North Iowa with 45)  One of the things that set the penalty machine in motion for North Iowa happened at the 7:01 minute of the first period when Bulls Captain Max Scott took an elbow to the head and looked to be down and out for the game.  Simone Dadie stepped up and answered the call for his captain dropping the gloves.  The game would continue to be a back and  forth physical game, but  ultimately it would be Austin that would find the back of the net 5 times all on screened shots.
The bulls earned 4 out of 6 points this weekend, but still find themselves in 4th place.
The push to the playoffs starts now, and will see North Iowa fighting for every point they can as Bismark will make their way into town this weekend for a tilt on Friday and Saturday night.
