Bulls Announce Player of the Week Nominees!

Mar 11, 2013

The North Iowa Bulls nominate Matt Kroska for forward of the week for the final week of the NA3HL regular season. Matt was outstanding this weekend not only in production but in leadership. Matt understands what it takes to be successful; a Minnesota State High School league champion with St. Thomas Academy in 2010, his game is very sharp right now. In a pair of home games to close out the regular season Kroska tallied 2 goals and 6 assists and was a +7 for the weekend. Matt not only led offensively but got involved physically, which is a part of his game that has been steadily developing. James Hughes receives honorable mention for his weekend totals of 4 goals and 3 assists and also a +7.
North Iowa nominates Bulls defender Ron Lindgren for defensive player of the week. So often it is an offensive outburst that gets defensemen noticed but "Ronnie" has really stepped up his game lately. "Responsible" could be Ron's middle name, as he ended the regular season a +48 second only in league +/- to teammate Connor Langfield. Lindgren scored a short-handed goal in Friday's win over Breezy Point and added a pair of assists in Saturday's regular season wrap up against Twin City and was +8 for the weekend. Tyler Burg receives honorable mention for his weekend efforts where he blocked 11 shots in two games. Burg also has been a very responsible defender for the Bulls. "Burgy" is known for sacrificing his body for his teammates and is ranked third among active NA3HL defensemen in +/- at +47.
Don't forget to get out to the "Barn" this Friday and Saturday at 7:30PM to catch Games 1 and 2 of the NA3HL West Division Playoffs against the Minnesota Flying Aces. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 641-423-GOAL and are $10 for adults and $6 for kids under 18 and seniors over 65. The Stampede to the Silver Cup is in full swing. Go Bulls!
