Ahlgren, North Iowa blank La Crosse, 4-0

North Iowa used a sparkling performance by Tommi Ahlgren to take down La Crosse, as the netminder did not allow a goal in North Iowa\’s 4-0 shutout victory.

North Iowa\’s penalty kill excelled, as North Iowa gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

North Iowa was sparked by Carmen Dalesandro, who had one goal and one assist. Dalesandro scored on the power play 4:41 into the second period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. North Iowa earned a power play opportunity when Ben Henderson was put in the box for boarding. Sean Mallonee picked up the assist.

North Iowa stifled La Crosse\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Others who scored for North Iowa included Austin Jackson, Tommy Stang, and Brett Gravelle, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Eric Piatt, Adam Orn, Joe Burgmeier, and Shane Bernhardson, who each chipped in one.
