Sangyeob Kim Representing Korean Men’s Team at 2025 Asian Winter Games

Mason City, IA- The North Iowa Bulls are excited to announce that forward Sangyeob Kim is representing the Republic of Korea at the 2025 Asian Winter Games. This is the second tournament at which Kim has represented his nation’s men’s team on the international stage after taking part in the 2024 Olympic Qualifying Tournament. 

Across 30 Bulls games this season, the Tennessee State University commit has scored 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points. He leads the team in goal scoring and is the leading points-per-game scorer in the NAHL. He joined the Bulls last season in the middle of the season following a trade from the St. Cloud Norsemen. In 20 Bulls games in the 2023-24 season, Kim posted 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points. The Seoul native has suited up for the Korean National Team at the World Junior Level twice, winning a silver medal at the 2022 U18 World Junior Championship Division 2 Group A Tournament in Romania, where he posted 9 points in 5 games. The next season, Kim played for the U20 Team at the World Junior Championship Division 1 Group B Tournament in Poland, where he posted 6 points. 

This year’s Asian Winter Games are the ninth installment of this international event featuring 34 nations around Asia and are being held in Harbin, China. Hockey has been a featured sport at every edition of the tournament. The highest the Korean Team has finished is second at the most recent edition of the tournament in 2017, held in Sapporo, Japan.
