Aug 6, 2014

The North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL are proud to announce that the Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) tab two North Iowa players for their training camp roster. North Iowa goaltender Chris Amsden from St. Peter, MN, secured a spot on the Magicians roster at their main camp tryout a week ago. Chris was a tendered player by the Magicians.  Amsden, who provided solid net minding all year for the Bulls reached the training camp invite by out dueling 12 other goalies in attendance. "Chris' NA3HL numbers were spectacular with a record of 25-2 with six wins by shutout. His save percentage was .922 and his GAA was 1.89. In the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship Amsden was perfect in two starts posting 2 shutouts en route to helping the Bulls win their second consecutive NA3HL Silver Cup."  North Iowa forward Austin Jackson was another player that the Magicians saw promise in. Jackson a '95 from Waterloo, IA had a strong main camp where he competed well and was offensively productive. Jackson was one of the Bulls more reliable young players during the 2013-14 late season and playoff stretch. "Austin's presence in the playoffs was key to our success. He recorded 8 points in 8 games during the NA3HL playoffs with 5 goals and 3 assists, one goal being a game winner during the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship." The North Iowa Bulls wish Chris and Austin and the Minnesota Magicians the best of luck and much success in the 2014-15 NAHL campaign.
