Santopoalo’s hat trick boosts North Iowa over Breezy Point, 10-1

Tim Santopoalo netted a hat trick to lead the North Iowa Bulls over the Breezy Point North Stars, 10-1.

Santopoalo notched his first tally 10:26 into the second period. He then added goals at 19:46 into the second and at 6:55 into the third.

North Iowa\’s offense rang up 50 shots on Breezy Point\’s net. The Bulls outdid their season average for goals scored. North Iowa has scored at the pace of 7.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

North Iowa also got points from Ron Lindgren, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Rihards Marenis, who also had two goals and two assists, Dominik Florian, who also registered one goal and two assists, Matt Kroska, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Cameron Brown, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Austin Jackson also scored for North Iowa. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Joe Kleven and Sam Naegele, who contributed one a piece and Chancie Hanson and Matthew Kaitchuck, who each chipped in two.

The North Stars managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Breezy Point wound up below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game.

Chris Amsden recorded 16 saves for the Bulls. North Iowa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Troy Pierce rejected 40 shots on goal for the North Stars. Breezy Point registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
