North Iowa Outlasts Breezy Point

The North Iowa Bulls gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Breezy Point North Stars.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Connor Langfield at 7:47 of the third period.

 

North Iowa was led by Langfield, who finished with one goal.

The Bulls made Breezy Point's goaltenders to work in net, launching 31 shots and forcing 27 saves. Ian Shidlofsky made 23 stops and Erikur Arnason made four.

North Iowa additionally got points from Eric Behrend, who also registered one goal and one assist, Kyle Krueger, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Matt Kroska, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Tony Paulson, who had two and Chancie Hanson and Patrick Sivets, who contributed one a piece.

The North Stars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three North Iowa power plays.

Breezy Point was helped by Tyler Reichl, who had one goal. Reichl scored on the power play 11:04 into the second period to make the score 2-2. A checking from behind penalty on Krueger had put the North Stars on the power play. Billy Foy picked up the assist. Breezy Point also got a goal from Austin Williams as well.

Aaron Davis rejected 23 shots on goal for North Iowa. The Bulls incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Breezy Point incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
