North Iowa downs Wisconsin, 5-1

Adam Maxfield grabbed one point to lead North Iowa to a 5-1 victory over Wisconsin.

North Iowa\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wisconsin power plays. North Iowa forced Wisconsin goalie Evan Moyse to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

North Iowa also had goals scored by Adam Orn, Mitch Parsons, Jack Stang, and David Min, who each put in one. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Eric Piatt, Mike Lyons, and Riley Meyer, who each chipped in one and Tom Lindgren and Marshall Barnes, who contributed two each.

Wisconsin excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Wisconsin was led by Nathan Viberg, who scored the team\’s only goal. Viberg scored 9:51 into the second period to make the score 3-1 North Iowa. Ethan Luck picked up the assist.

North Iowa\’s David Johnson stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. North Iowa incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Evan Moyse made 40 saves for Wisconsin on 45 shots. Wisconsin incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
