La Crosse outlasts Wisconsin, 3-2

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Wisconsin faces elimination next time out.

La Crosse were sparked by Mick Nisbet, who registered one goal and one assist. Nisbet scored short handed in the third period to make the score 3-2 La Crosse. Ben Henderson claimed the first assist on the goal, and Jared Bromberg got the second.

La Crosse kept Wisconsin\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Max McConnell made 28 saves on 31 shots.

La Crosse also got points from Henderson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Daniel Toycen also scored for La Crosse. More assists for La Crosse came via Patrick Gazich, Bromberg, JP Eykyn, and Taylor Trapp, who contributed one apiece.

Wisconsin put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow La Crosse to score on any of their five power plays.La Crosse were unable to stop Wisconsin from sending pucks towards the net, and Wisconsin eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Wisconsin were helped by Ben Ratner, who had one goal.Ratner scored in the first period to make the score 1-1 . Thomas Hanson and Caleb Vosters registered the assists on the goal.Others who scored for Wisconsin included Jake McNamara and Ratner, who scored one each. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Connor Boscaccy, Vosters, Austin Lewis, and Hanson, who each chipped in one.

La Crosse incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Wisconsin incurred ten minutes in penalty time with five minors.
