Huge game by Kroska boosts yNorth Iowa over xTwin City, 4-1

The yNorth Iowa Bulls\’ Matt Kroska had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team\’s 4-1 win over the xTwin City Steel.

Kroska scored at 10:30 into the second period to make the score 2-0 yNorth Iowa and again while short handed 19:38 into the second to make the score 4-1 yNorth Iowa.

yNorth Iowa pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Bulls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. yNorth Iowa\’s offense operated below it season average. The Bulls average 7.0 goals per game. yNorth Iowa kept xTwin City\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Jackson Germaine made 43 saves on 47 shots.

yNorth Iowa also got points from Tim Santopoalo, who also registered one goal and one assist. yNorth Iowa also got a goal from Brandon Anderson as well. In addition, yNorth Iowa received assists from Tyler Richison, who had one and Richie Marenis, who had three.

The Steel were held below their usual level of production. xTwin City puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game.

The Steel were led by Chase Myers-Beck, who scored the team\’s only goal. Myers-Beck scored 12:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 yNorth Iowa. Jace Childs picked up the assist.

The Bulls\’ Jordan Moran stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. yNorth Iowa registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. xTwin City incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
