Huge game by Gravelle boosts North Iowa over La Crosse, 7-1

Brett Gravelle was all over the ice for North Iowa, as he tallied two goals and one assist in North Iowa\’s 7-1 win over La Crosse.

Gravelle scored on the power play at 8:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa and again while on the power play 10:35 into the first to make the score 2-0 North Iowa.

North Iowa was led by goalie Tommi Ahlgren, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Ahlgren certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.22 entering the contest.

La Crosse was unable to stop North Iowa from sending pucks towards the net, and North Iowa eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. North Iowa cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring four goals on five chances. North Iowa was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

North Iowa additionally got points from Austin Jackson, who also tallied one goal and one assist.
