Fuchs lifts North Iowa over Rochester, 6-1

North Iowa relied on the scoring touch of Quinn Fuchs, who netted two goals, to beat Rochester, 6-1.

Fuchs scored at 52 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa and again while 17:52 into the first to make the score 2-0 North Iowa.

North Iowa\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Rochester power plays. North Iowa forced Rochester goalie Zach Mains to work between the pipes, taking 66 shots.

North Iowa additionally got points from Adam Orn, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Austin Jackson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Brett Gravelle, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Sean Mallonee also scored for North Iowa. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Jeff Solow, Joe Burgmeier, Tommy Hall, and Carmen Dalesandro, who contributed one each.

Rochester could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

North Iowa\’s Tommi Ahlgren stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. North Iowa incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mains rejected 60 shots on goal for Rochester.
