Easton Hockey NA3HL Defenseman of the Month: Evan Mills, North Iowa Bulls

As North Iowa rolled to a 7-1 record and 1st place in the NA3HL’s West Division during the month of December, the addition of defenseman Evan Mills, 19, really paid off for the team. The native of Shawnee, Kansas, had a great month, recording 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in the eight games played, along with a +8 rating. Mills (6’1/192) recorded at least a point in six of the eight games played during the month, which included two multi-point games and a game-winning goal. In a win over Minnesota on December 20th, Mills had a goal and three assists for a four-point night. He also scored the game-winning goal in a win over Bozeman at the NA3HL Showcase back on December 9th. For the season, Mills has scored 19 points in 20 games with the Bulls. Mills began the season playing in the NAHL for the Soo Eagles where he recorded one goal in seven games played. "Evan is a defenseman that brings the full package.  He skates well, snaps passes hard and accurate.  He is also a physical presence and brings offense to our team. He has one of the hardest wrist shots I have seen for some time which has been effective for us on the power play,” said North Iowa head coach Todd Sanden.
