Bulls Wrap Up Tender Signings

Jun 3, 2012

The North Iowa Bulls have wrapped up their 2012-13 tender signings.  In a flurry of activity up to the 3HL tender deadline, North Iowa remained active in the process.  North Iowa tendered 11 players, including 8 of which were tendered in the last 10 days.  Six of the last eight  tenders were signed in the the last 4 days.  North Iowa has added size in the forward department.  Preston Blanek, an Edina, MN native was the first power forward to sign.  Preston is 6' 2" and 225 pounds.  He brings a great skill set for a big guy which I saw at a recent NAHL camp.  Jay Routheau from Green Bay United, a 6' 2" 205 pound forward picked the Bulls as his tier 3 destination.  Jay is a player that I have scouted at a few events and has gotten better each time I saw him.  Jay tallied 89 points in two seasons for his United squad.  The third big forward that inked with the Bulls is Brandon Anderson, he is  6' 4" and 215 pounds.  Brandon was the third leading scorer on his champion California Titans U18 team (PHL).  Brandon is an impact player, tallying a pair of goals in the PHL Championship game.  He is a player I have been in contact with for a long time, he was actually offered a spot on the 2011-12 North Iowa Bulls team but made the decision to play for the Titans. The Bulls also tendered forward Taylor Brown from Madison Edgewood.  Taylor combined for 109 points his junior and senior season.  Rounding out the forwards tendered by the Bulls is Brody Peterson,  I saw Brody two years ago at the Coulee Region tryout and was impressed enough to continue to follow his progress. Brody is 5' 8" 165 pounds and led his New Ulm, MN higschool team with 114 points in his last two years.  The Bulls added 2 defensemen late via tender signings.  Tyler Burg from Buffalo, MN is a 5' 11" 190 pound defenseman that brings a strong work ethic along with a very respectful off ice track record as a community leader and volunteer.  Tyler is also a state finalist as Rodeo Bull Rider, should fit right in at the barn.  Tyler Richison is a defenseman from Webster, WI.  At 6' 170 pounds Tyler has seen some offensive success collecting 40 points in his last two years at Amery HS, WI.  "I am very excited about the caliber of player and caliber of citizen we have been able to attract to the Bulls in our tenders.  All of these young men have done very special things in their hockey and personal lives and I am proud to have each of them on board with the North Iowa Bulls."  Interesting fact:  5 of North Iowa's tenders are from Wisconsin, 5 from Minnesota, and 1 from Alaska.
