In Game 1 of the 2013 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, several North Iowa Bulls players contributed to a resounding 5-1 victory over Team Minnesota.
Tim Santopoalo potted the second goal for Team Midwest, with assists from Brown and Kroska, giving Team Midwest a 2-0 lead at the time. With Team Midwest leading 4-1 midway through the third, Taylor Brown tallied a marker with assists from Kroska and Santopoalo, extending the lead to 5-1, which would be the final.
Head Coach and GM Todd Sanden is guiding Team Midwest in the tournament and they outshot Team Minnesota 40-25 on the day, including a dominant second period, in which they controlled play and outshot Team Minnesota 22-7 and scored 4 of the 5 goals of the contest. With the game tied at 0 after the first, Coach Sanden got the boys to hit the gas and take over the game in the middle frame and Team Midwest took a 4-0 lead to the third.
Tyler Richison and Matt Kaitchuck are also playing on Team Midwest and turned in strong performances as well on the back-end.
Team Midwest continues the tournament tomorrow at 10AM against Team Ohio, which defeated Team Michigan 2-0 in earlier action.
