Bulls Land Fifth Straight Weekly Star With Mordini

Nov 2, 2016

MASON CITY, Iowa – The last five weeks have been nothing if not consistent for the North Iowa Bulls – a weekend sweep against a Central Division opponent and then a midweek announcement of another Bulls player named the Bauer NA3HL Central Division Star of the Week. The winning streak is alive and well, as is the streak of midweek hardware, thanks to the announcement Wednesday of Steven Mordini (Baraboo, Wis./Team Wisconsin) as this week’s Central Division award-winner.

The 18-year-old Bulls defenseman landed his second Star of the Week honor for this season after locking down a six-point weekend against the Rochester Ice Hawks, including five assists, and a +5 rating in two decisive wins.

“Steven provided steady defensive play while chipping in offensively for the Bulls in their weekend home-and-home sweep,” said Bulls head coach Todd Sanden.”

Mordini also tallied the game winner on the power play in Friday’s 4-1 home win. Next up on the agenda for the Bulls is a Friday-Saturday set this weekend against the Willmar Warhawks, with both games starting at 7:30 p.m. at the North Iowa Ice Arena in Mason City. Both games will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and will be audio-streamed on Mixlr.
